Forge Transition Statement
To our valued customers,
The Atlassian ecosystem continues to evolve, and so do the Marketplace apps you depend on. Atlassian has introduced a new cloud app development platform called Forge, which will gradually replace the existing Connect framework by the end of 2026.
As an Atlassian Marketplace Partner, Creativas is fully committed to this transition. While it requires effort and adaptation, it also opens the door to stronger app experiences and long-term innovation for our customers.
What this means
Atlassian’s investment in Forge is aimed at providing a more secure, scalable, and future-ready environment for Marketplace apps. Like all partners, we are actively migrating our solutions to Forge to align with Atlassian’s direction.
For you, this transition will mostly happen behind the scenes. But it’s important to highlight what’s changing and how it benefits you.
Key advantages of Forge
Stronger integration with Atlassian products: Forge opens the door to new ways of enhancing our apps, but it also changes how certain features can be built. Some things that worked well in Connect may need to be rebuilt differently or streamlined in Forge. We’ll be transparent about these changes and use them as an opportunity to improve.
Enterprise-grade trust and security: Forge apps run on Atlassian’s infrastructure, which enhances security and ensures data residency support by default. This helps simplify compliance while giving you more control over where your data lives.
Faster and more sustainable innovation: Once the migration is complete, we’ll be able to iterate more quickly, delivering enhancements that take full advantage of Forge’s capabilities.
Challenges along the way
Migration takes time: Rebuilding apps on Forge is a complex process. In the short term, this may affect the pace of new feature delivery.
Feature adjustments: Certain capabilities built on Connect may need rework or rethinking on Forge. We’ll take this as an opportunity to refine and improve.
Resource considerations: With Forge, app infrastructure comes with new considerations around compute and storage. While this may lead us to adjust how some features are delivered, we’ll be carefully optimizing performance as we transition.
Status of our app migrations
We’re in the process of migrating all our apps to Atlassian’s Forge platform. Below you can see the current status of our apps:
App Name | Migration Status |
---|---|
Smart Tables for Confluence | DONE |
Smart Terms for Confluence | IN PROGRESS |
Smart Courses for Confluence | UNDER CONSIDERATION |
Smart Images for Confluence | DONE |
Smart Terms for Jira | NOT REQUIRED FOR NEW FORGE APPS |
We’ll keep this page updated as more apps are migrated, so you’ll always know where things stand.
Looking forward
At Creativas, we see this shift as more than just a platform change, it’s an opportunity to make our apps more powerful, more reliable, and better suited to the future of teamwork.
We appreciate your trust and support as we move forward, and we’re committed to keeping you informed throughout this journey. If you have any questions or want to discuss what the Forge transition means for your team, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
