Why are terms sometimes missing from the glossary or nor highlighted on Pages?

Smart Terms uses Confluence Query Language (CQL) to retrieve content from your Confluence instance. CQL is the standard search mechanism provided by Confluence and is managed entirely by Atlassian.

While powerful, CQL has some known indexing limitations that may impact the accuracy and freshness of search results, causing indexing delays, out-of-sync results or search latency. These issues are more likely to occur when creating new terms, importing terms or migrating to the Cloud.

If you experience inaccuracies in search results or inaccurate highlight, we recommend allowing some time for Confluence to update its search index after making changes. If the issue persists, kindly rebuild your Smart Terms index and your Confluence content index.
